Welcome to the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber

The Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber began over 35 years ago to advance common business interests, economic growth, and equality in the workplace and society for its LGBT and allied businesses, corporations and professional members by providing educational, networking, and community engagement.

Since 1983, the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber has been premier voice of the Greater Tampa Bay Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender business community, representing over 250+ businesses, community groups and individuals in seven counties, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk or Hernando.

Tampa Pride mural to be painted Saturday

Located in Tampa’s Downtown, the intersection mural supports diversity, inclusion, & equality

Tampa, FL –  The Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber has partnered with the Tampa Downtown Partnership for Pride Month to reveal the permanent intersection mural located in the historic Tampa Heights neighborhood of Tampa’s Downtown. The vision of the painting is to signify unity and to showcase our diverse community.

At a time when we need to come together, we celebrate our community with the Pride Mural, signifying the unity of the LGBTQ+ community, with the Black Lives Matter Movement, people of color, and our Trans brothers and sisters. We honor each other and look to build a better future for generations to come,” said Justice Gennari, President & CEO of the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber.

Local artist Cam Parker was commissioned for the project. Cam has painted several murals in the Tampa’s Downtown, including in the Tampa Heights neighborhood.

The City of Tampa has proclaimed Saturday, June 27, as “Unity Mural Day.” Volunteers will be painting murals at five locations within the City of Tampa. In conjunction with the City of Tampa’s Lift Up Local and Vision Zero initiatives, street murals are a way to celebrate the unique aspects of neighborhoods, strengthen community bonds, and improve the safety and livability for our communities.

Painting will take place from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, June 27 (weather dependent).

The media is welcome to stop by at any point, and the artist will be available for interviews on-site.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony with City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor is scheduled for 2pm.

The mission of the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber: to advance common business interests, economic growth, and equality in the workplace and society for its LGBT and allied businesses, corporations and professional members by providing educational, networking, and community engagement.

The mission of the Tampa Downtown Partnership: is to be the steward of Downtown Tampa, while cultivating effective public/private partnerships to facilitate catalytic physical and economic development.
