Can’t-Miss Events in Tampa Bay LGBTQ+ Community
Members’ Volunteer Day
Each year, the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber selects a local nonprofit member around the holidays to partner with for our Members’ Volunteer Day to give back to our community. In 2021, our members donated over 200 meals to Feeding Tampa Bay to help feed the over 1 million food insecure neighbors currently in Feeding Tampa Bay’s care.
Pride Nights
In partnership with local sporting organizations such as the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, & Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber celebrates diversity and inclusion of everyone in sports with annual Pride Night. A portion of the proceeds directly benefit local LGBTQ+ charities in Tampa Bay.
Pride Parades
Not only is Tampa Bay proud to be home of largest pride event in the southeast with St. Pete Pride, but a variety of other pride celebrations are also hosted in Tampa Bay. The Tampa Pride Parade and St. Pete Pride Parade showcase a rainbow-clad celebration of love and equality each year. Additionally, Sarasota Pride, Polk Pride, and Pasco Pride host pride community celebrations. With Florida reported as having the third-highest Queer population in the country according to Queer News Tonight, these events highlight the full spectrum of love and life in Tampa Bay.
Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
TIGLFF showcases a selection of compelling films and videos by, for, or about the LGBTQ+ community that Entertains, Enlightens & Empowers. Each October, they highlight through film the artistic, social, and political changes that are impacting the global LGBTQ+ community.
Support other Tampa Bay LGBTQ+ Events and Organizations
Tampa Bay is home to many incredible LGBTQ+ organizations who host inclusive events that allow them to continue their work. These organizations’ missions are a part of the fabrication of the region. Many of these organizations are members of the LGBT Chamber, Balance Tampa Bay, CAN Community Health, EPIC Empath Health, GLSEN Tampa Bay, Metro Inclusive Health, PFLAG, Project Pride Sarasota, to name a few.
